Day-to-day, you’ll review, develop and implement corporate, directorate and local procedures, policies and standards that affect the health, safety and well-being of our employees. We’ll also rely on you to plan and manage occupational health service delivery across the business. Developing procedures for quality improvement; managing team performance and development and providing management information about the quality of delivery and service provision – all are elements of this vital role.   You have a track record of delivering significant change in occupational health services in a large, diverse and complex organisation. We’ll also be looking for an understanding of regulatory and legal constraints, health & safety issues and professional regulatory frameworks and their relevance to our OH services. The ability to ensure appropriate compliance in service delivery is key, as is a flexible and innovative approach to people management and well developed leadership, team building and problem solving skills.

Occupational Health Practice Nurse

As a key member of the multi-disciplinary specialist team at British Airways Health Services, you’ll enjoy rare scope and variety. With 38,000 employees across a broad range of sectors, there will always be something - and someone - new for you to support. You’ll provide specialist advice and assistance to our staff on topics ranging from fitness for work, through to preventing work-related ill health in a diverse mixture of ground, air and overseas environments.   Based in our Waterside Occupational Health Centre, you’ll undertake a range of statutory and non-statutory health assessments and screenings. We’ll rely on you to accurately interpret the results and decide on the appropriate course of action. You’ll also provide our people with work related immunisation and travel health advice. What’s more, you’ll collaborate with fellow health professionals on work-related issues, health promotion and workplace visits - and you’ll work with managers and staff to ensure compliance with first aid procedures.   To join us, you’ll need to be an NMC Registered Nurse with both nursing and occupational health experience. Your expertise spans spirometry, electrocardiography, audiometry and immunisation. You have the knowledge to link work processes and environments to fitness and placement standards, and to make strong professional decisions. Self motivated and enthusiastic about what you do, you’re a team player with excellent communication and client contact skills. Proficiency in the use of IT including LotusNotes, Windows, Microsoft Office and medical record systems is vital.
